Abstract:
Insulin is the signal for the body to absorb glucose from the blood. Insulin plays an important role especially in the liver, muscles and adipose cell in homeostasis of blood glucose concentration. The action of insulin starts with its binding to the receptors located on the membrane of target cells. The insulin receptor exists on the membrane of all mammalian cells. In this paper we estimate the total energy spent for one Insulin receptor and we have discussed the relationship between insulin-insulin receptor in hepatic cell using queuing model and obtained optimum number of insulin receptors for normal metabolism which is indicated with the help of energy graph
